Quality Cable Source, Inc. is currently manufacturing SEE9 cable sub-assemblies for a military application, demonstrating their expertise handling projects involving small gage wire. Molex PicoBlades 7-pin to 2-pin and 14-pin blade to 2-pin connector cables vary in length from 3.2″ to 2.2″ to 5.7″. Quality Cable’s electronics technicians use their speedy Komax wire processor to strip and cut the SEE9 cable wire to the appropriate length. Quality’s crimping press then quickly attaches the Molex 7-Pin PicoBlades, the Molex 2-Pin PicoBlades, the Molex 14 Pin PicoBlades, 51021-1400; and the Molex 2-Pin PicoBlades to the cable ends. These military grade SEE9 cables are assembled to exacting tolerances of ±.005″ and angles of ±1°, all according to the customer’s specifications using 2D CAD drawings for precision guidance. When the cable assemblies are completed, they undergo rigorous crimp height and pull tests to verify the integrity of the finished products. Quality Cable then carefully packages the cables to prevent damage during shipping and handling to their customer in Illinois. Quality Cable manufactures 1,000 of these SEE9 cable assemblies per year.
